Q: How does the quality of the machines Sunhill distributes compare with name brands?

A: In many cases our machines are manufactured by the same manufacturers the name brand companies use (in fact, we’ve designed some of the machines other companies sell!) In comparison 6” and 8” jointers by WOOD® Magazine (Dec. 1995), both our 6” and 8” models were rated as top values. Fine Woodworking® (Nov/Dec. 1995) said they favored all the features of our 6” jointer. We invite you to give us a call to ask for a reference. We are one of the only companies to offer a complete reference service for just about anywhere in the country (and then some).

Q: What is so unique about Sunhill Machinery?

A: Sunhill Machinery is unique because we always respond to the needs of woodworkers. We were the first to introduce machinery which has now become very popular such as the M-314 three-side planer/moulder, the SMD-15 15” wide belt sander and CT-204L 8” jointer to name a few. All of these machines still carry the original manufacturers names. Our most recent products include the Oliver line of machinery.

Q: What is the quality of machinery made in Taiwan?

A: While many machines look alike, we consistently offer better quality than others. With over 100 different manufacturers in Taiwan, you need a distributor who knows how to pick the right ones. Sunhill has 20 years of experience importing woodworking machinery. We either co-design or spec our machines with our manufacturers to ensure that the quality always meets our high standards.

Q: Why don’t we sell Sunhill labels on the machines?

A: Unlike many importers who may lead you to believe they are the manufacturer, we at Sunhill do not pretend we are a manufacturer. Sunhill is a distributor for specially selected manufacturers we believe offer the best quality. We believe you should know as much as possible about what you are buying, so many of our machines carry the labels of the original manufacturers such as Oliver, Geetech, CKM, Sheng Shing, Powermatic, Goodtek and Comatic.

Q: Is Sunhill Machinery a big company?

A: No, Sunhill is not a big company, although since 1979, we have distributed a large amount of machinery. With the Sheng Shing SDM-series wide belt sanders alone, we have distributed more than 3,500 units. We enjoy serving the woodworking industry. By staying small, we can keep our costs low and stay competitive, passing the savings on to our customers.

Q: Does Sunhill Machinery offer the best machines? Does Sunhill Machinery have the cheapest prices?

A: Why pay more for the same product in a different color? Sunhill Machinery offers the best value for your money. We offer many machines that are the same or better quality as our competitors at much better prices to save you money. We also carry many types of machines that other companies do not carry. If you don't see it on our website doesn't mean we can't get it or find it for you. Customer service is our priority.
